How do our water mist systems work?

As the name suggests, Prevent Systems utilise very fine water spray/mist to control, suppress or extinguish fires. By releasing smaller droplets of water, a larger surface area is created, with mist system achieving a reactive surface area of 2,000-6000m²/litre in comparison to 2m²/litre for conventional sprinkler systems.

This larger surface area greatly improved heat absorption, and when that heat is absorbed, the droplets convert into steam around the fire plume, which in turn displaces the oxygen and disrupts the combustion process.

We use the latest in CAD technology and industry recognised hydraulic calculation software to ensure the most accurate calculations possible for sizing the correct pipework and plumbing equipment for your water mist system installation.
